Regenex worked its magic on a consignment of sumptuous bedding and towels to save the summer for high-end festival goers.
The team worked around the clock to revive the fairytale linens and despatch them straight to the Leeds Festival in time for partied-out revellers to sleep in utmost comfort.
With the textile chemistry knowhow we apply to raising the toughest stains from commercial linen, we were ideally positioned to come to the rescue of luxury accommodation brand Pink Moon.
Pink Moon is a sector-leading supplier of beautiful bell tents, Indian and traditional marquees, giant tepees and gazebos in stunning designs and finishes, for weddings, garden parties and other events.
Founded in 2012, the brand holds the largest share of owned accommodation in the festival industry and dresses its tents with sumptuous décor, bedding and blooms for an ultimate ‘under the stars’ experience.
Some of its pristine white festival glamping linen stock – as seen at festivals including Latitude, Isle of Wight, Electric Picnic, Rewind, and Reading and Leeds – had become too grubby and marked to be cleaned with conventional methods.
So director Hamish called on Regenex to assist, sending just over seven tonnes for processing. Technical director Paul Hamilton and the team here were able to return 6.4 tonnes as serviceable linen.
This amounted to an impressive 89% success rate with only 742 kilograms sold on as premium rag. The exercise saved Pink Moon thousands of pounds in replacement stock and over 22 tonnes of carbon associated with the manufacture of new items.
Paul explains: “This customer presented a whole new challenge to us, that we were delighted to accept. Pink Moon provides accommodation to nearly 50,000 event goers every year. It’s very important that their linen is spotless, for the whole glamping experience.
“The UK festival season is short. A lot happens in just a few weeks. The team at Pink Moon required a very quick turnaround between two events. We took delivery, oversaw processing as swiftly as we could, repacked each item carefully, and sent the linen straight on to the next festival.”
Hamish said: “Our reputation is built on providing a high-quality experience and our standards are very high. But we’re also very environmentally minded – we don’t want to be wasteful, and condemn any linen that we could continue to hire out.
“So we were thrilled to find Regenex and work together to get the most out of our stock, saving us money as well as doing the right thing to re-use the resources we have.”
The partnership is now prompting new conversations about possibilities for cleaning and re-waterproofing tents.
